Ferric Garden origins
Ferric Garden began at the end of 2018, blending my engineering expertise with my passion for design and making. I specialise in crafting unique metal art, garden sculptures, and bespoke items. The name "Ferric Garden" reflects my journey: "Ferric" signifies my primary material, iron, while "Garden" pays homage to the natural beauty of the UK countryside that inspires my work.

What is the sculpture/artwork made of and is it suitable for outdoor use?
All of the sculptures in our garden collection are built from quality metals to withstand outdoor use. They require no maintenance.
What are the exact dimensions (height, width, depth) and the weight of the piece?

What kind of finish or protective coating does the metal have, and how do I maintain it?
Our garden sculpture collection has an uncoated metal finish with a beautiful patina. We use heavy gauge materials which will will weather beautifully and last for decades without needing any maintenance. We don't use paints or coatings for outdoor pieces as these will flake off in time and need redoing. For indoor artwork we offer a range of finishes including clear-coats, painted and "blued" steel.
How long will it take for my artwork to be delivered after purchase?
Estimated dispatch and delivery dates are shown at the bottom of each product page. The popular items generally dispatch in 2—3 days and are delivered 2—3 days later. All our pieces are handmade in our workshop so the exact time to dispatch depends on our our current order queue. Larger pieces and custom orders can take longer to create. We will agree a delivery timescale with you when you place a custom order.
How is the artwork shipped, and what is the process for delivery, especially for large or heavy items?
We use a tracked courier service. They currently offer the best value for our tall boxes. You do not need to be at home to receive your delivery as long as there is a safe place for the courier to leave your package. For large items and large custom orders we will use whichever courier offers the best value and delivery timescale.
Can I commission a custom piece, and what is the typical turnaround time for custom orders?
Yes, we offer customisation of our garden sculpture collection, and bespoke pieces built to your unique requirements. Please refer to our Custom Orders page. Timescales vary for custom orders depending on their size and complexity, and will be agreed with you in advance.
Does the price include a base/plinth, and are there instructions for securing the piece (especially outdoors)?
Some of our garden collection sculptures are built on a freestanding base, but most of them are individual stems which can be simply pushed into lawns, flower beds and pots. They are easily moved and rearranged to keep your outdoor design looking beautiful. Please see the descriptions on the product pages for details.
What is your return policy?

Who is the designer and creator of the work? Is it 100% UK made?
All pieces are designed and handmade by Alistir in his Devon workshop using UK sourced raw materials only. You can buy with confidence, knowing every piece has been individually designed and handmade in the Devon.
